Cedar Lake Township is one of 1786 organized townships in Minnesota

Cedar lake Township is primarily a rural community located in Scott County and includes fishing/skiing lakes, a golf course and Doyle-Kennefick Regional Park, a county owned 480 acre (soon to be 900) park.

Geographically Cedar Lake Township is just minutes from the Twin Cities and NE of the City of New Prague. It is located aproximately 10/15 miles west of I-35W and State Highway 13 runs through the west side of the township.

The majority of Cedar Lake Township is part of the New Prague School District 721 which includes three elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Also located in New Prague is St Wenceslaus Catholic School. Two other school districts extend into the township, they are Jordan and Prior Lake.

Many of the residents of Cedar Lake Township who call this home can trace their lineage back to the original founding families of the 1800s; others have come here more recently to visit and decided to stay.
