-- Established in 1858 - "your grassroots government at work to serve the residents of Cedar Lake Township in the best way possible"

  • Cedar Lake Township is one of 1786 organized townships in Minnesota

  • Cedar lake Township is primarily a rural community located in Scott County and includes fishing/skiing lakes, a golf course and Doyle-Kennefick Regional Park, a county owned 480 acre (soon to be 900) park.

  • Geographically Cedar Lake Township is just minutes from the Twin Cities and NE of the City of New Prague. It is located aproximately 10/15 miles west of I-35W and State Highway 13 runs through the west side of the township.

  • The majority of Cedar Lake Township is part of the New Prague School District 721 which includes three elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Also located in New Prague is St Wenceslaus Catholic School. Two other school districts extend into the township, they are Jordan and Prior Lake.

  • Many of the residents of Cedar Lake Township who call this home can trace their lineage back to the original founding families of the 1800s; others have come here more recently to visit and decided to stay.
